Open Space and Riparian Area Preservation

Subcommittee Chair - Colleen Hatfield

Identifies needs and develops approaches to identifying open space for preservation to protect critical watershed resources and water quality. Identifies riparian areas that require protection and preservation within the Millstone WMA. May help plan and implement projects. Develops strategies for the management plan to improve open space and riparian area preservation in the Millstone WMA.

Non-point Source (NPS) Management

TMDL Allocations and Implementations Plan

Subcommittee Chair - John Kantorek

Works with the Raritan Basin Technical Advisory Committee to identify water quality targets that are reasonable and appropriate for the WMA, particularly for Phosphorus. Investigates loading assessments and allocations for the WMA to reach water quality targets based on the TMDL model. Examines the use of land management practices to affect loading and water quality targets. Develops strategies for the watershed management plan to address pollutant reduction needs where these are identified.

Water Supply Management

Subcommittee Chair - Mary Beth Koza

Identifies water supply (both ground and surface water) issues and the availability and management of water supplies in the Millstone WMA. Develops strategies for the management plan to address these issues.

Education and Outreach

Subcommittee Chair - 

Develops and works with staff and volunteers to develop plan components in education, to implement public education/outreach efforts, and to generate involvement in watershed planning, awareness of watershed issues and interest in plan implementation.

 

Next Meeting

The Millstone E&O subcommittee will meet with the Basin E&O Committee until there is a need for a separate meeting.
