Headwaters & Stream Management
Work Group Chairs - Mary Ace & Andy Riehl
Identifies needs and develops approaches to protect the WMA’s trout production streams,
riparian areas and water quality. Identifies riparian areas that require protection and preservation. May help plan and implement projects.
Develops strategies for the management plan to improve riparian area preservation in the WMA.

Steve Souza
Identify
needs and strategies to develop an institutional framework for a regional, watershed-based approach to stormwater management related to future development. In addition, identify strategies for managing stormwater from
existing development and linking both types of management on a watershed basis. These strategies should include setting priorities, identifying infrastructure, and developing priorities and costs associated with watershed
based stormwater planning.

Work Group Chair -

Identifies situations where existing land uses cause or may cause watershed problems, and
identifies management practices to address these issues. Identifies opportunities for open space preservation that would help
protect critical watershed resources. Develops strategies for the management plan to address these issues.
