What's New in the Raritan Basin


 

Size & Location: The Lower Raritan WMA is 352 square miles. 

Located in Central New Jersey, the WMA is surrounded by the Upper Passaic to the north, the Arthur Kill and Monmouth Watersheds to the east, the Millstone  to the southwest and the North & South Branch to the west.

 

Major Waterways:  The main-stem Raritan River, Green Brook, South River, Lawrence Brook, Manalapan Brook

 

Major Highways:   Interstate 287, the New Jersey Turnpike, US Highways 1 & 9, State Routes 18 & 28

 

Counties:  Middlesex, Monmouth, Somerset, Union

Open Space Areas:  Thompson Park, Jamesburg Park, Monmouth Battlefield
