NJ Non-Profit GIS Community

The Non-Profit GIS Community (NGC), a users group for non-profit organizations operating in New Jersey using GIS and related technologies, had its first meeting in several years on June 15th at the offices of the Stony Brook Millstone Watershed Association.  Speakers included representatives from NJDEP, the NJ Office of GIS, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, Environmental Systems Research Institute and others. In addition to non-profit organizations, representatives from academia, for-profit companies, and municipal, county, state and federal government were invited to provide more comprehensive networking opportunities. Doug Schleifer, URWA GIS Director, is Founder and Co-Director of the NGC along with Andy Rowan of the GIS Center at Stony Brook.
