NJ Section of the American Water Resources Association (NJAWRA)
recently approved the formation of a Stream Restoration Workgroup.
The goals of the newly formed workgroup will focus on information
exchange and networking among stream restoration professional in New
Jersey. Potential projects for the workgroup include: S
Information exchange regarding reference reach information and
restoration techniques appropriate to NJ landscapes. S
Improving project implementation resources for volunteers and experts. S
Gap analysis of information needs for improved stream restoration
success - regional curves for NJ streams, recognizing conditions where
bioengineering is most successful, when to use natural channel design,
when to use 'hard' engineering, working in urban areas, best solutions
for incised stream channels, etc. S
Dissemination of information developed by the group via website,
seminars, workshops, newsletters.
