RIVER-FRIENDLY PROGRAMS

RIVER- FRIENDLY RESIDENTS

The NJWSA is gearing up for the initiation of the River Friendly Resident program in the main stem Raritan area, encompassing sections of Raritan Borough, Somerville Borough, Manville Borough, Bridgewater Township, and Hillsborough Twp. Initially, invitations to join the program and preliminary questionnaires will be sent to residents adjacent to Peter’s Brook, Duke’s Brook and their tributaries in early 2007. The narrow focus will allow the authority to determine public interest in the program and the effectiveness of outreach methods, in a cost effective manner.  We are looking forward to creating partnerships with community members to increase awareness about environmental stewardship, and ultimately help improve water quality in the Raritan River and its tributaries. Please feel free to contact Tara Petti at NJWSA with any questions or comments about the program tpetti@raritanbasin.org  (908-685-0315 ext.33).
