Funds Awarded for Open Space Partnership Program Projects  11-8-06 

Somerset County Freeholder Peter S. Palmer, planning board liaison, presents ceremonial checks totaling $1 million at the Board of Freeholders November 8 meeting.  Since the program’s inception in 1995, approximately $11 million has been awarded to various municipalities for 76 projects for the preservation of open space. 

The County/Municipal Open Space Partnership Program is funded through Somerset County’s Open Space, Farmland and Historic Preservation Trust, with a portion of the funds being allocated annually to local property acquisitions.
