The New Jersey Water Supply Authority will make a virtual presentation to Franklin Township residents on February 23rd at 6:30pm about the Dellwood Lane stormwater basin retrofit project scheduled for construction this spring. Harmful algal blooms (HABs) afflicted water bodies throughout NJ during the summer of 2019, while aquatic invasive species can also negatively affect water quality, recreation, and habitat. This webinar will first focus on the environmental and infrastructure threats of aquatic invasive species, review species of concern, and discuss how you can help through reporting and proper boat cleaning. The second half of the webinar will review what causes HABs, how they are managed professionally, what you can do to help, and the health and safety precautions you should take when a HAB may be present.
